This packaging design project, titled "Zao Xin", was created as a heartfelt Mother’s Day gift set that blends practicality with emotional warmth. The name combines the Chinese character for soap (皂) with "Xin" (馨), which symbolizes a gentle fragrance that spreads far—evoking both the comfort of scent and the nurturing love associated with carnations, a classic symbol of motherhood. Inspired by the language of carnations, the design features three primary color themes: Pink for Blessing, White for Love, Yellow for Gratitude. Each inner box uses a hexagonal butterfly-lock structure, with a custom petal-shaped top lock resembling a carnation. The illustrations and short messages on each package—such as "Thank you for raising me", "Love you always", and "Wishing you youth forever"—enhance the emotional connection and storytelling. The outer box adopts a premium rigid setup box (heaven and earth box structure) wrapped in textured paper for an elevated tactile experience. The lid features multi-layered laser-cut illustrations, adding visual depth and uniqueness. This thoughtful blend of structural design, material choice, and emotional messaging creates a warm, refined, and collectible Mother's Day gift that stands out in both meaning and form.
